Facial with blood from my arm? Yep! Microneedling with PRP: the Experience

Hello everybody,

I recently had my first microneedling with PRP treatment, a.k.a. “vampire facial.”
Why did I do it? Mainly out of curiosity. I had tried microneedling before, but never with my own blood. It sounded pretty cool.
I was psyched that they allowed me to film the whole process, so please enjoy!

If you can’t watch just now, here’s the gist of it:
First, they put numbing cream on my face.
While I was waiting for it to get numb, the nurse drew blood from my arm and put it in a spinning machine so that the PRP would separate from the blood.
It looks like this:
plasma

After about 30 minutes, the nurse wiped the numbing cream off and I washed the remainder off my face with Cetaphil and water.

Next, the microneedling! As you can see in the video, she would rub a bit of my plasma on a small section before running over it with the microneedles.

The process took about 30 minutes. After the microneedling, the nurse rubbed another layer of plasma on my skin and I was good to go home! She gave me a syringe of my plasma to take home and rub on my skin–I finished it off that same day. After my plasma ran out, I used hyaluronic acid (the one from Trader Joe’s) and some moisturizer to treat the dryness.

I filmed the intro/ending on day 4 post-treatment. Overall I’m quite happy with how it turned out!

Have you tried microneedling before? Let me know how it worked out for you! And if you haven’t already, please SUBSCRIBE here:
